Managing Director of the Bodytech Health & Fitness Clubs Group, Jeff Anderson has announced the installation of ‘The Grappler’. Normally mainly used by the military, the new machine is at the cutting edge of technology and is used by the SAS, Royal Navy, firemen and rugby players to ensure superlative fitness.
Bodybuilders and athletes interested in strength training, prefer to use it rather than treadmills – which are perceived to lose muscle mass. As we continue to expand the range of facilities to our members, we will be announcing details of another high-tech fitness machine arriving shortly from the USA”. Editor’s note: Additional information - The effort required while using the machine is adjustable, whilst a fitness computer provides readouts of speed, time and distance. The smooth action of the rope continues to roll freely due to a unique inertia system simulating the effects of rope climbing and provides a full cardiovascular workout with the added benefit that the resistance can be increased or decreased by a simple flick of the computer changing it into a very effective resistance machine. |

Jeff Anderson said: “The Grappler massively improves cardio-vascular fitness, and at the same time also increases muscularity in the upper body, in particular the back and arms. The rotating rope-motion reproduces the effects of rope climbing and since its’ installation The Grappler has proved very popular as it is an excellent means of achieving a warm up prior to usingweights, and also as a cool-down technique after weights training.
