Sprinters Coffee Shop based at Bodytech Health & Fitness Club in Mardol, Shrewsbury has received a Gold Award in the Shropshire County Primary Care Trust’s – Shropshire Healthy Eating Award. The Shrewsbury-based coffee shop received the award for excellence in various categories including healthy food choices, smoke-free facilities, compliance with Food Hygiene Regulations and Food Hygiene trained staff.

Jeff Anderson, Managing Director of Bodytech Health & Fitness Club Group based in Mardol, Shrewsbury said: “We were recommended to enter the Healthy Eating Award following some inspirational comments during an Environmental Health Inspection. I am delighted to receive this award and would especially like to thank my wife Julie and congratulate the Sprinters Coffee Shop catering team.

Sprinters offers home-made cakes made by my wife Julie, and they are mainly low fat, low sugar and in some cases have no sugar and for some dietary requirements are gluten free. We offer healthy options such as smoothies, jacket potatoes, sandwiches with lean meats and trimmed ham. Our cooked breakfasts are grilled which significantly reduces the fat content. We have vegetarian options and also use local Shrewsbury suppliers to ensure quality ingredients*.
